Hopscotch

Title: Hopscotch
4 August 2003
Title: "Hopscotch"
Challenge: Games & Villian, 100 Words
Character: Mystique

As she walked away from the playground after her meeting with Rogue, she saw some girls playing hopscotch across the yard. It had been her favorite game, when she was very young. All of the little girls in her neighborhood, with their frilly dresses and swinging braids, had played. She, too, had played for hours every day, jumping back and forth as her yellow eyes searched for her stone in the faded chalk lines. She never missed, never slipped, always remembered to say "butterfingers" when she picked up her stone. She always won. Of course, she had always played alone.
